The All Dulles Area Muslim Society(ADAMS) would like to express our deepest sympathies
to the Catholic Community for the loss of one of the world’s most prominent spiritual
leaders who stood for religious freedom, human rights, and building bridges. Pope
John Paul, II was a great champion of interfaith work and he will be sadly missed
by all. Muslims worldwide respected Pope John Paul II as an advocate for justice
and human rights
We hope that his legacy will be celebrated, because death for great men of history
does not signify the end of the good works in which they leave behind. We pray that
the Church will continue to carry this great legacy.
Many community members of ADAMS, including the Imam, President, & Committee Leaders,
have extended family and in-Laws that are Catholic.
On March 06, 2005 the Reston Trialogue, (All Dulles Area Muslim Society(ADAMS),
Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation and St. Thomas à Beckett) held an Interfaith
Panel about "The Role of Women in Judaism, Catholicism and Islam" The event took
place at the ADAMS center from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event marked Women's
History Month which is March. This is a part of a two year-long ongoing Interfaith
Trialogue that started in 2003. Over 140 Catholic, Jewish, and Muslims attended
the event.
We hope to continue to build bridges and friendships between our Faith Communities
and Remember the Legacy of Pope John Paul II.
