The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Commends the Muslim Community, FBI, and Pakistani Police in Finding and Stopping 5 Missing DC Area Young Men
The parents of the missing young people and local Muslim leaders recently informed National Muslim Organizations of the disappearances. The National Muslim Organizations then immediately informed the FBI and, along with the families and Muslim community leaders, have been working to assist the Agency as the investigation moved forward. The families were also assisted in obtaining legal representation to make sure their constitutional rights were protected. The missing DC Area young men have been detained in Pakistan by Pakistani Police.
Muslim Organizations encourage the Muslim community to continue in its cooperation with law enforcement officials involved in resolving this case and urge anyone aware of the missing group's activities to come forward. In addition, Muslim organizations warn against the dangers of adopting or promoting extremist religious views
The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) has ongoing programs, activities, sermons, and educational programs to work with our youth and our entire community to prevent extremism. Our community hosts and participates in community service activities, PEACE Events, Interfaith events, and Scouting activities designed to engage our youth in productive citizenship activities.
For several years, The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) has served on the American Muslim Sikh Advisory Committee to the FBI Washington Field Office, and has always encouraged open dialogue and cooperation from the Muslim Community with Law Enforcement, to protect our Nation and to protect individual Civil Rights. ADAMS has hosted Town Hall meetings with the FBI Washington Field Office at the Mosque, and has had many advisory meetings with agents from that office and other FBI offices across the USA.
Islam holds the human soul in high esteem, and considers the attack against innocent human beings a grave sin. ADAMS has stated clearly and consistently that those who commit acts murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent.
We repudiate and dissociate ourselves from any Muslim group or individual who commits such brutal and un-Islamic acts. We object and refuse to allow our faith to be held hostage by the criminal actions of a tiny minority acting outside the teachings of both the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
