ADAMS Eid Adha Information

Dear ADAMS Community,

Asalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullah,

The Fiqh Council of North America announced Wednesday, August 23, 2017 was the 1st day of Dhul Hijjah 1438 based on the announcement by the Hajj authorities in Makkah.
Accordingly, the day of Arafah – the main day of Hajj – will be on Thursday, August 31, 2017 and the Eidul Adha 1438 will be on Friday, September 1, 2017.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “There aren’t any days greater, nor any days in which deeds done in them are more beloved to Allah, the Most High, than these 10 days (of Dhul-Hijjah). So, increase in them the saying of Tahleel (La Ilaaha illa Allah), and Takbeer (Allah Akbar) and Tahmeed (al-Hamdu li-llah)” [Musnad Imaam Ahmad]

Virtues of Fasting on the Day of Arafah – Thursday, August 31st:

Abu Qatada (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) said, “Fasting the Day of `Arafah [9th of Dhul-Hijjah] expiates for two years, one prior and one forthcoming. And fasting the Day of `Ashura [10th of Muharram] expiates for the past year.” [Reported by Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah]

ADAMS staff and volunteers have been working diligently to welcome the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah with proper preparations and arrangements.

Please see Sep 1st – Eid and Jumaa Location and Timings below

I encourage you to benefit from these 10 days by increasing good deed. Please take a minute to go online and donate today: https://www.adamscenter.org/give-now/
