The Accessibility Committee was created to provide a safe haven for families that are dealing with loved ones facing a disability.
The Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said ,”How amazing is the attitude of the believer. Everything is good for him – and that is for no one but the believer: If good times come his way, he is thankful and that is good for him, and if hardship comes his way, he is patient and that is good for him.” (Authenticated by Al-Albani)
Through this committee we hope to start with the following InshaAllah:
1) A consistent meet and greet, that meets once a month
2) Spiritual counseling, with an experienced and knowledgeable advisor
3) Community resources, such as Special Olympics and Cub Scouts of America
We hope that inshallah through meeting regularly and providing opportunities within the community, we can bridge the gap between the misconceptions of the disabled.
Narrated An-Nu’man ibn Bashir: Allah’s Messenger (saas) said, “You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
